A location can be searched by address, intersection, predefined location or graphic. The buffer distanced will be applied to the location found.
Address
Enter house number and street name in the text box. Click 
Find to search for address.
If address is matched, the map display will automatically move to this location, apply the buffer and run the query. When a good address match can not be found a list of possible candidates will be listed as shown below.
Select one of the candidates to apply this address to the map and complete query.
Intersection
Enter both cross street names. Click Find to search for this intersection.
If intersection is matched, the map display will automatically move to this location, apply the buffer and run the query.
Location
From the 'Select location type' drop down choose type of location to be referenced.
Click on the location of interest.
Graphic
Apply buffer to user drawn point, line or polygon.
Point
Click on map display to set point.
Line
Drag mouse while holding down left mouse button to draw line.
Polygon
Drag mouse while holding down left mouse button to draw polygon.
